HEISMAN WATCH....WEEK 6

"The outstanding college football player whose
performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence."

We are now separating the best from the rest but only if their teams continue to win. We see that after Oregon's huge upset to Arizona last week, Marcus Mariota dropped down and may have trouble climbing back up. Nick Marshall, Auburn's QB, has his team playing exceptional and will have something to say this week as they play Mississippi St. Speaking of Mississippi St, Dak Prescott has produced back to back wins against LSU and Texas A&M and if he's dominant this week against Auburn, he could move into the top spot. Note that this is the first player from Mississippi St to be in this type of informal poll for the Heisman Trophy. On the opposite end of winning and trying to stay in the chase, Wisconsin's great running back, Melvin Gordon rushed for 259 yards in a great individual effort but his team came up short and lost to Northwestern 20-14. Jameis Winston's antics off the field have tarnished his name and is eliminated from my "straw poll."
