There was an all-star political turnout for tv-host and sports-tipper Wayne
Allyn Root at his Las Vegas Walk of Stars ceremony outside the ESPN zone at
the NYNY
resort hotel. Our merry mayor of mirth Oscar Goodman, joined the Clark
County Board of Supervisors in declaring it "Wayne Allyn Root Day."
Governor Kenny Guinn, Lt. Governor Lorraine Hunt, Congressman Shelly
Berkley and Congressman Jon Porter all sent Proclamations to honor
his contributions to the entertainment industry." United States Senator John
Ensign sent his Chief of Staff to read the following Proclamation:
"Presented to Wayne Allyn Root. Congratulations on your induction into the
Las Vegas Walk of Stars. From sports prognosticator to political analyst to
best-selling author to television producer and host, you exemplify the
larger-than-life excitement of the "Entertainment Capital of the
World" and certainly deserve the media-bestowed title of "KING OF
VEGAS" With the placement of your star in front of New York New York, you
join those legends who have made an indelible mark on the Las Vegas landscape.
May your star continue to shine as brightly as it does today."
On August 15th, 2006 Wayne received the honor of a lifetime- for his lifetime of work starring on American television, Wayne
was honored with induction into the "LAS VEGAS WALK OF STARS" (a division of the "Motion Picture Hall of Fame"). Wayne's star
is enshrined in front of New York New York. He joins inductees/nominees such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr.,
Rich Little, and Siegfried & Roy. Wayne's star is inscribed:
"MOTION PICTURE HALL OF FAME: In tribute to WAR for his lifetime achievement and contribution to the world prominence of Las
Vegas 8-15-2006."
