Panthers sign OG Silatolu to one-year deal

The Carolina Panthers signed offensive guard Amini Silatolu to a one-year contract Friday.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Silatolu rejoins the Panthers after spending 2012-15 with the team. A second-round draft choice (40th overall) by the Panthers in 2012, Silatolu started 28 of 34 games played but just 13 starts over his final three seasons as he battled injuries. He started a career-high 15 games as a rookie at left guard.

After his rookie contract expired following the 2015 season, the 28-year-old Silatolu signed with the Chicago Bears. He attended training camp with the Bears in 2016 but was released on Sept. 5 and was not signed by another team last season.
