Two of my worlds have collided this week as the injuries suffered by the New York Giants (a team I follow closely because of my roots near the Big Apple) have made them a possible "Don't Make Sense" pick because so many pundits are saying it's IMPOSSIBLE to bet on the Giants.
Let me tell you something. The pundits, particularly those outside of Las Vegas, have no idea how to beat sports betting markets! And, it's often the teams that nobody wants to bet on that provide the best value. If sportsbooks are going to be rooting for the Giants (which seems very likely based on early line moves), then you shouldn't be afraid to do the same thing.
Does that mean WAYNE ALLYN ROOT will be all over the Giants +12 (or more) in this Sunday night's game against the Denver Broncos? You'll have to be a client to find out! I will tell you this, I will be talking very closely with my sources back in New York about the mindset of this team. You regulars know I was born in Mt. Vernon, NY as a true S.O.B. (son of a butcher). I still follow the New York teams in ALL sports very closely because it provides a true edge in my betting (keep that in mind for Yankees games in the ALCS!). Here are my concerns...
*That the players have given up on their head coach
*That the offensive line has no way to protect Eli Manning
*That the defense is tired of trying to bail out the offense every week
*That all of that gets even worse on the road at altitude!
Hey, there are obvious reasons to be afraid of betting the Giants this week. I'm aware of that. But, I also want to know if...
*The Giants are tired of hearing about how pathetic they've become
*The Giants will rally behind Manning, their on-field leader
*The Giants defense is putting in surprises to mess with inexperienced Trevor Siemian
This isn't John Elway's Denver Broncos...or even Peyton Manning's. Trevor Siemian can be too conservative with a lead. And, it's not like the Broncos are a juggernaut. Sure, they looked that way against disappointing Dallas. But, they couldn't shake the LA Chargers in their season opener. And, they lost to Buffalo. How motivated are they for this game when all they've heard is that the opponent has no chance to win?
I'll say it this way...if NYG's defense shows up...and Manning avoids interceptions...then this line is too high. But, if the players are basically "on strike" because they hate the head coach, then it's going to be 27-0 Denver by halftime.
The great thing about "Don't Make Sense" handicapping is that you're often getting extremely motivated teams with bonus points in the line. But, you have to make sure they're motivated before you make your bet!
I've also talked to my sources about Patriots/Jets...a rivalry game that often means a lot more to this dog than to this favorite...particularly at high pointspreads. The Jets are playing better than people expected...but, frankly, not as well as their won-lost record indicates. This is another game that could see a surprisingly close finish, or a blowout if the lesser New York-based team isn't able to execute.
THE KING OF LAS VEGAS may or may not be involved with the NY-based teams this weekend. I will tell you that I've isolated a potential NFL upset or two (or three!) at lower spreads. Before Sunday...I'm aiming to clean up in college football with some surprises that will have the mainstream media scratching their heads all day and night. And...of course...we have a big baseball weekend that's going to be actively bet here in Las Vegas because of the teams involved.

Be sure you ask about bonus baseball when you call. Those are separate from the main football program. You might as well check on early-bird NBA rates too. The more you save up front, the bigger your profit!
I'll see you again early next week to talk more sports betting. I'll see what happens this weekend before making a call on the topic. Things are about to get interesting in college football. Things are already very interesting in the NFL. And, that Final Four in the baseball playoffs could be something special.
The only man in the sports betting industry with a star on the "Walk of Fame" here in Las Vegas will keep showing you how to beat the markets. There's no time like the present to jump in and make your score. It's time for YOU to go to W.A.R. alongside WAYNE ALLYN ROOT!
